So there’s this movement of people that want the English language spellings of words simplified.
It seems they believe the spelling of common words like, friends and learn, are to hard for kids to learn….

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year-old Texas rancher whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Barack Obama, and his bid to be our next President.
The old rancher said, “Well, ya know, Obama is a ‘post turtle.’”
The doctor asked what a “post turtle” is. The old rancher said, “When you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a ‘post turtle.’”
The old man saw a puzzled look on the doctor’s face, so he explained: “You know he didn’t get up there by himself, he doesn’t belong up there, he doesn’t know what to do while he is up there, and you just want to help the dumb ass get down.”
Today marks the 64th anniversary of the landings of Allied Forces on the beaches of Normandy. Also referred to as D Day.
We pause and reflect on the lives lost and of the bravery of all Allied forces as they proved that under even the most dire circumstances our countries CAN get along and fight for the greater good.
As the years pass and the greatest generation pass away to their greater reward, it is mentioned less and less. We need to remember their sacrifices. We need to remember the freedom they fought for.
As you go about your day today please savory the freedoms you have. Even in this time of global uncertainty we have alot to be thankful for. Much of that is a direct result of those brave men who stormed those beaches under the most extreme situations and bravely gave of them selves in order to bring tyranny to it’s knees.
Why is it suddenly so important to mention people who are uneducated or poor or poor and uneducated and gun owners who will vote for whomever?
Seriously, they were talking on the news this morning about the uneducated poor democratic women who will vote for McCain rather than Obama.
For some reason this just sits so wrong with me. And it’s been going on alot during the primaries. It seems the press is trying to force the differences in our society to divide this country more than it is. Do we need these divisions to be pointed out?
It’s just stupid.
Are all people who are opposed to Barack Obama being president going to be labeled racist?
It’s already started, seriously… and it’s stupid.
I don’t like him, I do not think he would make a good president, I don’t trust him. How can I trust a man whose judgment is such that it took him 20 years to determine his radical pastor wasn’t speaking for him?
It’s a crying shame where this election is going to come down to everyone being afraid of being called a racist for stating their feelings for a presidential candidate!
Let me go on the record right now saying that I do not care if he is black, white, or purple with pink polka dots he is NOT the right man to run this country! He will drive our country into the ground!
How lame is it to attack a man, a man who fought for our country, for flying a flag?

Just because we are protected by the first amendment does NOT mean we should just shoot our mouths off disrespecting the president of our county.
I don’t care who the president is and whether you like him/her or not, you should NEVER tell the president of our county to shut the hell up!!!!!!!
And on editing the president’s interview… I’m not real sure a president, or presidential candidate should be edited by anyone.
These people are the people we’re supposed to trust to run our country, the media on all sides seems to take free reign in editing out anything each particular station does not want out… this should stop.
This is just proof that media has taken free speech and adulterated it to the point it’s more lies than truth.
NBC has lost a house of viewers and internet users who no longer will tolerate such blatant incompetence.
OK, Now I know gas prices in other countries are much higher than ours has ever been. But, they are higher right now here than they have ever been and it’s hurting us bad. As results of the rise in prices of gas, food costs have risen along with everything else. Regardless, we’re hurting, the whole country is hurting, well except those whose pockets are getting fat off the high prices of gasoline.
Something needs to be done.
There have been lots of ideas as to what could be done such as gas tax holidays and drilling in ANWAR… however,
None of these things are the best thing for us…

This is a compilation of ideas David and I came up with to end the gas crisis.
Casting aside the environmental concerns, drilling in ANWAR is fine except it is not an immediate solution. It would takes years of exploration and tons of money to even get this started, not to mention the environmental implications and appeals and suits that would result. It could take decades to even see this happening. So it’s not viable.
However, if we open our oil reserves, I know I know, y’all are gonna start screaming we need those in case something happens, well guess what, something IS happening NOW…. IF we open up the oil reserves and STOP BUYING FOREIGN OIL, or at least tell them we will not pay over so much per barrel and not buy any until it happens then maybe we could relieve this situation…
in the mean time…
We should tax the oil and gas companies for all the profits, and I mean high taxes… we take that money and use part to pay off the deficit AND to push this country into finding a VIABLE (both environmentally and financially ) alternative to oil.
We have to do something and it’s high time this country sucked it up and got some freakin’ backbone and DID SOMETHING.
